Synthesis Method
Produced by the reaction of n-hexanoic acid with thionyl chloride. Mix thionyl chloride with n-hexanoic acid at 50-70°C, react at 70-90°C for 4 hours. Distill and collect the fraction at 147-160°C to obtain hexanoyl chloride.

Uses
1. Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. Used to prepare the antifungal drug tribromophenyl hexanoate, and also as an intermediate for liquid crystals.
2. Used in organic synthesis.
3. Used as an acylating agent in organic synthesis.
